Conservative controlled Kent County Council plan to cut library opening hours across Kent including at the newly refurbished Faversham Library in a bid to save £1 million per year. Kent's libraries have already saved over £6 million pounds. Libraries provide more than just books, libraries make computers and internet connections avalible to everyone, as well as providing a location for the regestration of births and deaths and acting as a community hub. The Proposed Cuts include reducing the opening hours of the newly refurbished Faversham Library from 53 hours per week to just 37.
